marzipan pumpkins

Hi!!

I made marzipan pumpkins years back for one of my halloween parties. They just look so cute on top of cupcakes! :)

What you'll need is marzipan, food colouring, toothpick, a small bowl with some water and some powedered sugar. If you find the marzipan too sticky to work with then add some powdered sugar...also if the toothpick sticks to the marzipan wet it with some water.

I know it's common sense but I gotta say it...clean hands and clean work surface! :) Mix the marzipan and food colouring to get the colour you want and then roll into a ball. (here's a little tip: once rolled into balls put in the freezer for a few minutes and it'll be easier to work with and mold.)

Press the top of the ball just slightly and make a hole at the top with your toothpick. Then starting at the hole just gently run the toothpick along the side.

Roll a tiny piece of marzipan (I didn't have brown food colouring or any other colours for that matter so I just left it as is) and put into the hole.

You can make them a few days ahead of time, just keep them in an air tight container in the fridge...wouldn't they be perfect for Thanksgiving!! :)

Have a great day!! xo
