Spotlight + Guest Designer + giveaway

Hello!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I decided to do this spotlight blog hop a little differently mostly to save time. My wonderful DT is scattered all over this world which means I would have to wait longer than I want to do to this mini blog hop.

So the sets we're spotlighting is

For my first card I combined Mr. and Mrs. Claus and Warm Wishes. I coloured and cut out the images with my Graph'it markers.

When designing this set I wanted Santa to show the peace sign...I always remind my kids that Christmas is not all about presents from Santa but about Jesus - hope, love and PEACE.

I added some glossy accents to the snowman's nose, Santa's mug and his glasses. I heat embossed the sentiment onto vellum using white embossing powder.

For my second card I used my Hello Friend stamp set. This set was inspired by my kids. I know I'm not the only mama who loves to watch their children sleep and every time I think to myself...you will never know how much I love you. The love for my children fills my heart, overflowing with love and joy.

I stamped the sleeping fox and poked holes along the lines and hand stitched using black thread. It's so simple but adds that little something something to the card.

My special guest designer is the talented Francine so hop on over to her blog. I'm giving away all three sets to one winner so make sure to leave comments. I will announce the winner tomorrow.

Take care!

friday favourites / wish list

Hello!

It's time for my Friday Favourites which doubles up as my wish list too!

First up is this sleek and simple water bottle I spotted over at Eco Diva Beauty (my wish list there is crazy!). I definitely need to drink way more water!!!

Planning, list making and doodling is a must for me to stay organized...my friend told me to use my phone for that and I just can't! I need a 'book' to write it down. Pick up a book! Put those ipads and gadgets down!! lol! I know...I live in a cave but you will never see me read a book on one of those tablets or whatever they are. I'm passionate about this people...leave me be in my cave drawing on paper with my pencils and markers and reading real books! :)

So this planner here is perfect! And who doesn't like whales!;)

I bought these shoes at Bata. They're so comfortable so they're perfect for running errands, driving the kids etc.

And while I was buying those I spotted these!

I think everyone needs a Happy pillow on their bed...never go to bed mad!! :)

Have a great weekend!

stretch your stamp sets + giveaway

Hello!
Hope all is well!

I have a lot on my mind...stamps being one of the things! :) For those who follow me know I struggle with time and balancing my house/home responsibilities and JD. Most of you know my kids have weird school hours (going at different times, basically I'm never kid free) and it's tough being a full time stay at home/work at home mom.

One of the things that I struggle with is monthly releases. Do you know that I actually haven't inked up some of my own stamp sets. Don't get me wrong...at the end of the day it's my job and it's business and I'm grateful I have the opportunity to do this. So my thought for today and making this card (which btw isn't finished...it's just a peek) is do you really, I mean really use your stamp sets to it's full potential?

One way is altering your stamps and mixing sets to create a project.

I used the snowman's hat from my Warm Wishes stamp set on this bunny from my Spring set. I'll share soon how I went about it as well as other ways of altering your stamps.

And I also wanted to giveaway my Spring stamp set.

If you're interested leave a comment here (it's open internationally).
I also want to thank you for your patience...with Judith stepping down it's a slow transition. Some of you are receiving orders that are coming from both me and Judith (because the newest sets are with me and the older ones are with Judith - she is sending them to me in batches...it's going to take time so please be patient).

Have a great day!

hello friend

Hello!
How are things?? I went to the dentist this morning...will have to go again next week....sigh...

I'm getting over a cold (so are mykids)...it seems like everyone has caught a cold here in Zagreb...even my dentist! ;)

Anyhoo! I created a quick and simple on layer card today using my Hello Friend stamp set.

The card looked really cute even before I coloured the fox (I should have taken a photo of it) which would have been the perfect card if you had like 5 minutes to spare!

I coloured the fox with my Graph'it markers.

Take care!

in the mood to bake + more painting

Hello!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!!

I have to admit I didn't do much baking over the summer and with Fall here I find myself in the mood to do some baking! As usual I turned to Pinterest for ideas and recipes....here are a few that caught my eye!

Banana cake with cream cheese frosting!!

It's been forever since I've baked some oatmeal cookies.

I LOVE lemon anything!

Chocolate is my family's favourite dessert! :)

Over the weekend my hubby tacked another piece of furniture and did a fantastic job...again! :) He did the same (and used the same brand paint) with this piece as the boys little cabinet.
Again sorry for the crummy photos! :(

We also bought new hardware and it made all the difference! I wasn't planning on buying new hardware but when we were in Bauhaus buying the paint I spotted these and so glad I did! :)

random goodness

Hello!

Hope all is well!
I got my samples of my new stamps the other day and I had to stamp them up! :) They are available for pre-order and I'm expecting the stamps to come sometime next week.

Fall is here in a couple of days so why not have a little 40% off my Autumn Blessings stamp set sale! :)

Today is my oldest son Marko's birthday!! I can't believe he's 12!!! How time flies! 6:45 pm I gave birth to Marko, weighing a little over 10 pounds and 22 inches long.....drug free delivery!!! OUCH!

He and I watched the Harry Potter movies together (it was our 'thing') and since he LOVES to read I thought the books would be a great gift (I tucked in some Å¡oldi (cash) so he can get himself something).

Poor thing is sad on his birthday for our budgie Booboo died this morning right after they went to school.
I know I'm his mama but he's so handsome! :)

#tbt + Nikola Tesla

Hello!

How are ya doing? Good I hope!

It's #tbt (throw back Thursday) here on the blog and I'd like to share a trip I took with my family two years ago! :)

My oldest son was learning about Nikola Tesla and we wanted to take him to Tesla's home (which is now a museum) in Lika...and I'm so happy we did (it was my first time).
Lika is special to me....my father's side are from Lika....it's the feeling I get like 'blood is thicker than water'....something I can't explain but just feels like home.

Anyways....

Who is Nikola Tesla?? Well he is the man who lit up the world of coarse!

Here's a photo of my hubby and kids walking towards the house where Tesla was born.

Handsome if I do say so myself! :)

Google Nikola Tesla and have your mind blown away! This post would go on and on forever if I attempted to write about his genius mind, talent and achievements!

His home

His father was an orthodox priest and this is the little church next to their home.

It was amazing to see Marko's reaction to everything we saw...he read and learned about Tesla and then to actually see a bit of history..magical!

Inside Tesla's home is a museum filled with photos, articles, books, audios, films and some of his inventions....BRILLIANT....you're not suppose to take photo's inside but I had to take some!

He was a bit of a 'mad scientist' if you will! :)

We hoped to visit this summer again on our way home from Vrsi but it was too late...but we'll be coming back again for sure. If you visit Croatia this HAS to be one of your stops...you won't be disappointed...especially if you're the nerdy type! ;)
