Christmas diy

Christmas is around the corner....I can't believe it! Especially with this crazy warm weather we're having I have to keep reminding myself to get started with winter/Christmas to do list.

Every Christmas I have all these crafty projects I'd like to try and I always run out of time (I literally should start planning in June).....but if nothing else at least I can share these diy finds with case you have the time to try one out.

These rustic little trees make adorable decor pieces don't you think?

LOVE these painted gold leaf ornaments!

I love these felt  ball garlands. I know you can make your own felt balls but I rather order a kit like this one and just thread the ready made felt balls.

I love creating diy wrapping paper with stamps...and if you don't have stamps grab a potato!

AHA love

Adding AHA's in my skin care has made the biggest impact, I wish I had started using AHA sooner.
Alpha hydroxy acids are natural acids derived from fruits such as oranges and lemons. In facial skincare products, the acids are often listed as sugar cane extract, glycolic acid, malic acid, triple fruit acid or lactic acid.

AHA's act as chemical exfoliants, which help to loosen and get rid of the dead skin cells on your skin's surface. The acids are more effective than abrasive exfoliants, such as scrubs and cloths.

Some benefits are improvement in skin pigmentation, decrease of fine lines and wrinkles, increases absorption of active ingredients in your skincare creams, serums etc.

Two AHA toners I love are Alpha H Liquid Gold and the recent discovery Cosmel's New cell Intensive Cleansing Lotion (which is made in Croatia). Like I said I love them both but I'm leaning more towards Cosmel. I feel Cosmel's is more gentle despite having 10% AHA. After using Liquid Gold I feel a tightness on my skin and the need to moisturize right away where as when I use Cosmel's toner my skin doesn't feel tight at all.

Another difference between the two is the price. Cosmel's is less expensive in price but the quality in my opinion matches Liquid Golds.

Cosmel 10% AHA ingredients:
Aqua, Lactic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Glycolic Acid, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Salicylic Acid, PEG-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Benzyl Alcohol, Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil, Mentha Piperita Leaf Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Dehydroacetic Acid, Linalool, Limonene

Cruelty Free
No artificial colours and fragrances
No Parabens

Alpha H Liquid Gold (5% AHA) ingredients:
Aqua, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Hydrolysed Silk, Glycolic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra Extract.

Keep in mind when using AHA's to use sunscreen.

wish list - lipstick

I admit I have a problem when it comes to lipsticks (and nail polishes)....but then I don't wear eye shadow or eye liner, bronzer, highlighter... so that's how I'm justifying my
 lipstick wish list!

My favourite lipsticks are Ilia and I was gifted Nudus 27 Kisses which I also LOVE!
I've had my eyeballs on Bite Beauty lipsticks for a while now. I think my first purchase will be their Multisticks which could be used on the lips, eyes and cheeks. I love me some good multi tasking products!

I kinda want them all. I'm really interested in Macaroon (pink), Nectar (violet), Biscotti (rose), Papaya (coral), Mascarpone (deep pink) and Praline (burnt oragne).....these names though!!! I'm literally drooling over these multisticks!

I found an online shop that sells these babies but the shipping to Croatia is $35! NOPE! I think I'll get my mom to send them to me. :)

Another brand I've been eyeballing is Axiology

I love the shades Worth and Attitude.

I had recently purchased Jane Iredale's BB cream, I've used it twice so it's still too soon to say what I think but first impressions are really good. I would also love to try her lipsticks.
I love a good lip crayon...I think they're fun and easy to apply.

My favourites are Yummy, Charming and Saucy (love their names!).

Last but not least (there are loads of different brands I'm interested but these are my top 4) is Au Naturale's Lipgloss. I'm NOT a fan of lipgloss...I just don't like the sticky feeling and having hair stick to my thanks, BUT these colours are killing me! Just gorgeous!

Caring Hearts Card Drive

The holidays are about family, kindness, and joy. However, during this time many of the elderly who live in nursing homes feel lonely. Wouldn’t it be great if we brought a smile to their face and brightened their holiday season simply by sharing our love of cardmaking? Please join crafters around the world for the 7th annual Caring Hearts Card Drive. Last year we collected over 22,000 cards and distributed them to over 100 nursing homes throughout the world. And we hope to collect even more this year! Please join us. Details for the card drive can be found at: Vera Yates Blog & Jennifer McGuire's Blog. Janes Doodles is proud to be a sponsor… offering a prize to a lucky contributor!

andalou pumpkin honey glycolic mask

This Pumpkin Honey Glycolic mask has been on my wish list for a long time. I finally ordered it from iHerb which btw you can get 10% off your first order by clicking on this link. :)

I've used it twice and so far I really love it! You will feel some tingling which I personally love. I really do feel that my skin looks know fresh when I use this mask. Now whether this mask will help with my hyperpigmentation only time will tell. I hope so. Also just a little'll want to maybe want to give this mask a little taste. I mean pumpkin and honey!

This is the second product I've tried by Andalou. My first purchase was their Englighten Serum, Turmeric + C, Brightening Serum which I really loved.

hello november

November is here! Wow. I know we all say it....but where does the time go?!

I have some friends and family who visit my blog but don't have facebook and instagram so I'll be sharing my instagram photos here on the blog,

Most trees here in Zagreb when turning leaves in the fall are pretty much yellow and brown but scattered here and there I'll come across these beautiful trees. The colour is amazing!

I'm always being asked why I don't sell my cowls. I just don't have the time. There are days where I don't crochet at all. I do it because I LOVE to do it and it relaxes me. The cowls I make I usually giveaway (some I've sold). I hope to do a little giveaway here on the blog.
